2 major types of cells: 1. Prokaryotic cells: Super small & simple Do not have membrane bound organelles Do not have a nucleus Earliest type of cell Single-cell organisms EX: bacteria

2. Eukaryotic Cells: Larger, more complex Contain membrane bound organelles Have a nucleus Evolved later Single or multi-cell organisms EX: plants, animals, protists &fungi

ALL cells: Contain an outer membrane & cytoplasm Can reproduce themselves Contain genetic material
