Fixture 7: A Visit

Objectives To develop self-motivation and confidence in reading beyond the school environment To understand the relevance of reading in the real world To learn how to use the library, and where different texts are kept

Warm-up Game Pass the Ball Spread out in a space, randomly. Throw the ball in silence. Instructions are intermittently called out by your teacher, e.g.: – Stand on one leg – Keep one eye closed – Use one hand only – Hot potato (throw the ball really quickly) You then have to catch the ball according to these new instructions. If you drop the ball, you are out and sit down. The last person standing is the winner.

Your Visit Write five questions you want the answer to during your visit Share and decide if they are good questions You might ask 1.Who encouraged them to read when they were young? 2.What is their favourite book of all time? 3.What are they reading at the moment?

Post-Match Activity Tell us about your online games and activities Share your training log and earn stickers Let’s update the Challenge Poster Who is Man of the Match? Instalment story
