Training New police officers have to go through basic training Basic training lengths range from 3-6 months After training you have to spend time as a regular police officer before being promoted to Detective The time you must be a regular police officer varies by force, but is usually about 5 years

High School Courses Grade 11 English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Computers & Technology, French, Health& Physical Education. Grade 12 English, Math, Computers & Technology, French, Health & Physical Education

Earnings Detectives earn $70,000-$120,000 per year however some experienced detectives in larger cities may earn more. Full time detectives receive benefits including dental coverage, pension plans, and paid sick/vacation days, continuing education is also paid for.
