EARTH’S 4 SPHERES Atmosphere is a gaseous envelope surrounding Earth. The oxygen we breathe is an example of a gas.

ATMOSPHERE Earth’s atmosphere has Carbon dioxide, Hydrogen, Nitrogen and Oxygen.

GEOSPHERE The Geosphere is the Earth itself. Mountains, rocks, and beaches make up the geosphere.

GEOSPHERE EXAMPLE IS THE GRAND CANYON IN ARIZONA.

THE GEOSPHERE INCLUDE THE SAND ON BEACHES.

HYDROSPHERE “Hydro” = water and “Geo” = Earth. The hydrosphere is all of the Earth’s water sources. It includes Rivers, lakes, and Oceans.

HYDROSPHERE AN EXAMPLE IS AN ICEBERG

HYDROSPHERE

BIOSPHERE The biosphere includes all forms of life. The biosphere includes single celled bacteria to trees to people.

WHAT SPHERE DO THESE OBJECTS BELONG TO?

WHICH SPHERE?

SUMMARY Trees/Bacteria/People = Biosphere. Rocks/Sand = Geosphere. Water = Hydrosphere. Atmosphere = air you breathe.

WHERE IS THE ATMOSPHERE, BIOSPHERE, AND THE GEOSPHERE IN THIS PICTURE?
