Resources By:Mauritius

About it The resources that are needed on earth are soil, water, air and sunlight they are made from living creatures and nature. Resources are all around us we can use the resources to make our stuff that we need without spending money or polluting our earth air.

The soil Soil is a resource that is important for sustaining life on earth. soil is made from dead plants and trees that are broken down by insects, bacteria, fungi, birds and animals. The topsoil is only a few centimetres thick but it contains the bacteria and fungi that plants need to grow.

What we use soil for.

Recycling Countries around the world try and think of ways to reuse waste. Every tonne of steel that is recycled from old cars means over one tonne of iron ore, half a tonne of coal and 54 kg of limestone do not need to be mined from the earth. Recycling has many benefits, not just for today but for many generations.

What to recycle Don't recycle

Oceans And Seas The ocean and seas hold 97% of the Earths water. In the ocean there lives fish plants and mammals. Fish are a valuable source of protein. Today people drive thousands of kilometres to search for food like fish for their families.

Some sea resources

Forests A well known name for the forest is the earths lungs. Humans on earth breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide. Trees take in dangerous greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and let out oxygen for humans to breathe in.
