The Missions Statement The mission of McReynolds Middle School is to promote student achievement by providing a high-quality education and life-changing experiences in a positive and safe learning environment. History John L. McReynolds, the first “Principal Emeritus” of the Houston Independent School District, taught Houston’s future leaders for more than 45 years. In 1957, he was further honored by having a newly built, modern junior-high school receive his name. Our Motto

McReynolds Middle School, every faculty and staff members has been carefully chosen on the basis of their knowledge of the teaching subject, their grasp of good teaching principles, their professionalism, and their commitment to young adolescents. Passing Percentages on State Exam

The Color Guard is the most popular extracurricular activity with both the students and the community. The Drill Team is an exciting extension of discipline, teamwork, and leadership skills learned in class. The teams performs in parades and community events. These teams also compete in competitions against other LCDC programs.

The Knight’s Chess Team The Knight’s Chess Team meets after school. The team competes with other chess teams in the district and outside the district.
