Peer Coaching A small group of trusted people whom you help and who help you by providing encouragement, ideas, a different perspective on obstacles and opportunities, and social pressure to actually do what you know you need to do differently.

What is it? Peer coaching is built around the philosophy of learn-teach-learn. In other relationships, it’s very one-way … one learner, one teacher. With peer coaching, both individuals are actively coaching and learning at the same time, so both sides get value and practice.

What are the perks? Enhances both career and leadership development Cultivates a learning culture - open and optimistic about change and risk rather than scared and adverse. Provides important coping resource to address challenges and builds confidence in ability to handle the unexpected. Makes you more resilient in all aspects of your life!

What are the perks? Recharge the tank Provides much needed positive reinforcement. We know we do good work but we aren’t always recognized to the degree perhaps appropriate or necessary to keep us sustained and motivated. It can be fun. This is your peer supporter, not your boss or your direct reports.

What are the perks? Strengthen Foundation Builds trust and a sense of belong which strengthens our individual practice and the profession as a whole. Builds connections and networks Builds confidence to make real change in your work and life.

What are the perks? Unique learning opportunity Gives the personal attention and real world examples that you can’t get from a webinar or seminar.

The GRAVA Buddy Program Buddies are Matched, if your interested in joining let me know and we can make something work! Minimum 1 yr commitment, 1 meeting a month We hope this will result in increased partnership and mutual support and growth in the GRAVA community Make sure to me: ◦ Goals ◦ 1 st meeting date

GROW Model

Group Task (30 minutes) Buddies Determine: How often you will meet? When and where you will meet? Who will be responsible for scheduling meetings? How will you stay in contact? How will unplanned changes be handled? What are the ground rules for your discussions? Then begin “Establishing the Goal” as outlined in the GROW Model Everyone else Jump right into the “Establishing the Goal” and move on to “Examining the Current Reality” if time permits.
