Linear Relationship A Linear Relationship is the result of a situation that is at a constant incline or decline. A Linear Relationship is the result of a situation that is at a constant incline or decline.

Leap Year Leap year occurs every four years in the month of February on the 29 th. Leap year occurs every four years in the month of February on the 29 th.

Growth of an average person’s hair per month. The average persons hair grows ¼ of an inch every month.

Pounds of food an average polar bear consumes each day. An average polar bear eats about 4½ pounds of food each day.

Example 3 Variables The dependent variable is the amount of food a polar bear eats in pounds. The Independent Variable is the number of days the polar bear eats.

Table Number of Days Amount of food in lbs

Graph

Did you connect the coordinates? Yes, we connected the coordinates because you can have amounts in between a day and a pound.

Example 3 Equation Pounds of food =4½ x the number of days Pounds of food = f Number of days = d f = 4½ x d f = 4½ d

Conclusion We hope you enjoyed our Power Point presentation, and learned about linear relationships. “See ya later alligator” “See ya later alligator”
