point of sale/inventory point of sale----item is deducted from inventory when dispensed and maybe reordered on computer. purchase order----form to order drugs/supplies form wholesaler. formulary---list of drugs approved for use in hospital or whose cost will be reimbursed by 3rd party. open formulary is all pharm products carried closed formulary is limited products of each drug classification covered,special permission for off list restricted formulary carries open and closed
