What is impressionism? Impressionism is small strokes or dots It is unmixed primary colors It is often a painting of nature, or something true or real They make shadows, to make everything look real, and not just look like an everyday painting
Who started this style of painting? Your answer is Claude Monet. He started painting in the 1870’s, when Monet was in his 30’s. Although he started it, he wasn’t the only impressionist. Some others included Camille Pissarro, Berthe Morisot, and Alfred Sisley.
