The importance of PDHPE in Primary Schools PDHPE programs play an important role within classrooms (BoS, K-6 PDHPE Syllabus, 2006). It allows students to develop their knowledge, their understandings and their practical skills in order to assist lead them to better health.
Personal Development, Health Through the incorporation of teaching about Personal Development and Health in the classroom, students are learning about: – Their growth and development, such as personal identity and the body. – Interpersonal Relationships, such as families, peers and relationships. – Personal Health Choices, such as nutrition and drug education. – Safe Living, such as road safety and personal safety.
Physical Education Physical education promotes physical activity It covers a wide range of physical games and activities which involves the students. Students learn about and through: – Active Lifestyle, such as ways in which they can be active. – Dance, such as the locomotor and non-locomotor skills they use. – Games and Sport. – Gymnastics, such as the element of movement.
