South Shores’ Fifth Grade PBL: What can we do to help the local homeless? South Shores helps Oasis.

Greg Smith’s fifth grade embarked upon this journey… South Shores helps Oasis.

Oasis director Todd Tuggle came to talk about his job, Oasis, and… South Shores helps Oasis.

…how we can help our local homeless? South Shores helps Oasis.

It was time to do our research! South Shores helps Oasis.

The students went online to make lists of what we could put in care bags. South Shores helps Oasis.

After lots of research, we came up with items that would work for our care bags. South Shores helps Oasis.

We put together our bags with lots of handy items. The newspaper even sent out a photographer! South Shores helps Oasis.

We also wrote “Thinking of you” cards to include in the bags. South Shores helps Oasis.

Mr. Todd Tuggle returned to pick up the bags and ask what we learned. South Shores helps Oasis.

Part of our work included writing about what we learned. Putting our thoughts on paper as well as action!

Project based learning and helping the homeless…just another way South Shores students reach for the stars! South Shores helps Oasis.
