CELL JEOPARDY Emily Jack Henry

Nucleus Directs the cells activities and stores chromosomes. Its like the brain of the cell. The Nucleus is in both a plant and animal cell, and has the same function.

Chromosome A chromosome is inside the Nucleus and tells the Nucleus the characteristics of the cell. The chromosomes are the cells DNA, and are in both a plant and animal cell.

Cell Membrane Holds the contents of the cell together. The cell membrane is only on the outside of the cell. Its like a gate keeper, it keeps the good things in and the bad things out. It is also in both the animal and plant cell.

Cell Wall The cell wall protects the plant cell and helps hold up/support the plant so the plant doesn’t fall down. The cell wall is like bones, because it helps you stay up. The cell wall is only in a plant cell because it doesn’t have bones in the plant it lives in.

Cytoplasm A jelly like substance that contains chemicals, which help the plant keep cell healthy. The cytoplasm is like jell-o that keeps you healthy. This jelly like substance is in both a plant and animal cell.

Chloroplast The chloroplast makes food for the plant cell. The chloroplast is like a kitchen for the cell. Chloroplast is only in a plant cell and is most of the time green. It is only in a plant cell because the plant cell can’t find food it has to make it, unlike an animal cell.

Endoplasmic reticulum It carries the nutrients to the different organelles that need them, they are like veins. They are in both a plant and animal cell.

Vacuole The vacuole stores food, nutrients, and waste. The plant cell has a larger vacuole than the animal cell. The vacuole is like a large storage room. It is in both a plant and animal cell.

Mitochondria The mitochondria is the organelle that releases energy from the nutrients. The mitochondria is like the power house of the cell. It is both the animal and plant cell.

How Plant And Animal Cells Are Different  Circular shape  No green or Chloroplast  Has cell membrane, no cell wall  Small vacuole  Brick like shape  Sometimes green and has chloroplast  Has cell membrane and cell wall  Large vacuole Animal CellsPlant Cells

How Plant And Animal Cells Are Similar  Has vacuole, mitochondria, cell membrane, nucleus, chromosome, and cytoplasm in its body. Animal CellPlant Cell

Which cell is a plant cell 10 points for the teams that get It right A B

Which cell is a plant cell
