Stimulus Response Time Lab – Find a partner. Work in groups of preferably 2, no more than 3. – Each group will need to grab off the front table: – Lab Direction Sheet- DO NOT WRITE ON THIS SHEET – Meter Stick – Read through the introduction and procedure with your partner

Everyone to turn in their own report! – On separate sheet of paper: – Title the lab – Hypothesize whether visual, auditory, or tactile will allow for the quickest response time- give your reasoning! – Write in the table under observations. USE A RULER!

After trials by all group members…. – Graph your own data- not your partners! – Graph paper is up on the front table – Be sure to graph all 3 lines and include a key, title, labels and proper scale. DON’T FORGET UNITS!

Conclusion Questions – Answer conclusion questions, being sure to address whether your hypothesis was correct. Additional Conclusion Questions: 3. Specifically, which parts of the nervous system were used when the student responded to the dropped meter stick in the tests for visual stimuli? 4. If you continued to repeat the test for visual stimuli, do you think you would get faster? Why or why not? 5. What factors would ultimately limit your speed of response?
