10 User Interface (UI) Design Fundamentals Don’t you know mobirses.com is going to help you build your new career? 1. Know your user 2. Pay attention to patterns 3. Create consistency 4. Use typography to create hierarchy 5. Provide feedback 6. Allow User Mistakes 7. Reward your user 8. Speak their language 9. Keep it simple 10. Keep moving forward More Information on

1. Know Your User Your user’s goals are your goals, so learn them. Find out what interfaces they like and sit down and watch how they use them.

2. Pay Attention to Patterns There is no need to reinvent the wheel. You should stay to those patterns which the users are most familiar with.

3. Create Consistency Your users need consistency. They need to know that once they learn to do something, they will be able to do it again.

4. Use Typography to Create Hierarchy Make designs clean and readable.

5. Provide Feedback Your interface should at all times speak to your user, when his/her actions are both right and wrong or misunderstood.

6. Allow Users to Make Mistakes No matter how clear your design is, people will make mistakes. Your UI should allow for and tolerate user error.

7. Reward Your Users Once a user has become experienced with your interface, reward him/her. Gamification is the best example of rewarding users in your applications.

8. Speak Their Language Provide clear and concise labels for actions and keep your messaging simple.

9. Keep it Simple! Don’t make the user think too hard. Do not make overloading shadows, bright colors, or inconsistence typography.

10. Keep Moving Forward When creating a UI, you will make mistakes. Just keep moving forward, and remember to keep your UI out of the way.
