Presentation transcript:

David Foster, CERN LHC T0-T1 Meeting, Geneva, June 2008 Logistics Dinner tonight in Rest-1, in the part of the restaurant nearest where we are now. –It is council week so we are in the actual restaurant, not the “back room”. No special arrangements for coffee this time, but available upstairs.

David Foster, CERN LHC T0-T1 Meeting, Geneva, June 2008 Actions Result of poll of T1’s to change to a L3 network managed and run by Dante. –Some expressions of interest in the idea and would like to re-evaluate at some later date. –No site believed this should be done now.

David Foster, CERN LHC T0-T1 Meeting, Geneva, June 2008 Issues Plan the way forward for the monitoring –MoU status and way forward. Operations –It is complicated, hard to explain, hard to document, no-one does it well. –Some principles discussed and agreed Ops is working, but improvements should lead to reproducibility of ops quality. Dont re-invent, dont add unnecessary “coordination” Ops handbook has put down some ideas. –Objectives Dont “re-invent” Lightweight documentation (should be a “living” document) Define roles and responsibilities Describe how things do/should work to provide more opportunity for collaboration –Actions Still need to discuss, agree and create the documentation. Must do this quickly now – not “over-engineer” CERN/IN2P3 (EGEE-SA2) taking the lead in this activity. Presentation today on an approach to documenting how things work and provide a framework for analysis and discussion.
