Five Recommendations/Considerations on School Facility Planning Safe Rooms* Security and Fencing* Conserving Energy Modernized Building with Educational Technology Multipurpose Indoor Gymnasiums

School Site Selection Criteria This is not her area of strength but she knows that it is “Important to consider the housing market and the recession” She hired someone that can predict the economy and population growth. It will determine what land spaces are available to build on and where schools are needed. Her team completed “Facilities Master Plan” with about 2 pages for each school. ments/Facility/MeasureKMasterPlan_2012.pdf Story: Looking at some prospective building site. Her friend was concern of the future traffic. Building a school versus building a prison.

Education Specifications Development Ask Questions: – What is the purpose of the building? – Do we have the budget to update schools? – Is it a educational need such as “educational technology”? Collaborative Team: – Educational committee (staff, parents & community members) – Facility consultant, Managing team, Architects, Engineers, Environmentalists, etc.
