HAR Consumer Research Panel Releases “DIY” Survey HAR’s 7,000-member Consumer Research Panel has released its latest real estate industry survey. This is the Do It Yourself (DIY) survey, and its findings are extremely telling, particularly with regard to how consumers look to their agents for recommendations for service providers. Here is a small sampling of the survey results: More than 2/3 of consumers do not rely completely on an agent to ‘find’ their home. 61% believe looking for properties online themselves provides the most accurate data. 58% consulted an agent about what improvements/repairs/cleanup were need before listing home. 54% would like agent to make recommendations about title companies. 48% would like recommendations about home inspectors.
