The rain drops fall stickily down my window, carrying with them the dust and grime that has been clinging to it over the past few months. It’s been so dry for so long. But not now. Now, it rains. I stare out from my bedroom, not used to being trapped inside. The pavement that used to be light grey and covered in filth runs like a stream. The trickles of water turn blacker and blacker as they go. They carry with them the filth of the drought. The shop-fronts opposite are running, too. Today, the whole world is a river running by. What SO VAST techniques can you see?

Imagine… You have been transported to one of the following places. Describe your surroundings, in 2 paragraphs. Don’t forget to use SO VAST.

S O V A S T

Self Assess -Label 3 SO VAST techniques. -Correct punctuation? STAR - Write one thing you really liked. WISH - Write one thing you could do better.

Simple Sentence verb noun Definition: a simple sentence consists of only one main clause, and has at least one verb and one noun. What’s the shortest simple sentence you can think of? I ran. The boy jumped. It sang. Grammar Check!

Simple Sentences The boy jumped. Amy is crying. The world spins. Make these sentences as long as you can by adding adjectives and adverbs BUT it must still be a simple sentence. Grammar Check!
