Navigation En-route Procedures ICAO Flight Plan Cross-country trip to London (CYXU)
En-route Procedures Drift Correction 1.Double Angle Method 1.Closing Angle Method Both methods assume Holding heading accurately
En-route Procedures Double-Angle Method (before ½ way) Use 10 0 drift lines to find Drift Angle Double the angle, and change HDG by this much Hold new HDG for a time equal to the time elapsed since you set your HDG Once on track, change HDG back to the original HDG +/- the Drift Angle
En-route Procedures Closing Angle Method (after ½ way) Use 10 0 drift lines to find Opening Angle Use 10 0 drift lines to find Closing Angle Add the Opening Angle and Closing Angle, then change HDG by this much New HDG will be Direct to Destination
En-route Procedures Ground-speed Check In order to calculate velocity, we require distance and time… V = D / T Distance:2 known points 10 NM marks Latitude markings Time:Watch Times from “In Flight Log”
