European Theatre of the Middle Ages By Betty Bohmer

History When did it exist? (begin/end) Where did it start? (country of origin) How did it start?

History (continued) What caused it to end? What makes it different from the other theatre forms that came just before it?

Actors Is there anything about the actors of the period you are researching that is unusual? Were they all male/female? Were they well thought of in society? Did they play the same role for life?

Costumes Is there anything unusual about the costumes of the period? Do they have any special names? Do they have any special meaning associated with them?

Cultural Impact Does your form of theatre have any religious significance? (did it begin as a religious ritual?) Was your form of theatre approved of by society? Was your form of theatre purely entertainment or was it used for some other purpose?

Images of the Middle Ages You may include a few images that you find integral to presenting your theatrical period. These may include but are not limited to images of costumes, stages, makeup, sets, actors, and scripts.
