Bias, Prejudice, Discrimination, and Stereotypes

Prejudice Prejudice refers to prejudgment before knowing facts. It usually refers to unfavorable prejudgments toward people or groups.

Prejudice Prejudice involves a view or mindset often accompanied by fear, ignorance, or hatred. “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover”

Discrimination Discrimination is prejudicial treatment of people based on their membership or perceived membership to a certain group or category.

Bias Bias is a prejudice in favor of or against a thing, person, or group, usually considered to be unfair

Stereotype A stereotype is a widely held oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing
