II.I NTRODUCTION The word church in the Bible comes from the Greek word ecclesia, which means a called out company or assembly. Wherever it is used in the Bible it refers to people. 1 Corinthians 1:2 New King James Version (NKJV) 2 To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours: 2 Corinthians 1:1 New King James Version (NKJV) 1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, To the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in all Achaia:

III.C ALLED O UT Called Out by Jesus Hebrews 9:15 15 For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, since a death has taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. John 10:3 3 "To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

Romans 1:6 6 among whom you also are the called of Jesus Christ; Romans 8:30 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified. Galatians 1:6 6 I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; Philippians 3:14 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 2 Thessalonians 2:14 14 It was for this He called you through our gospel, that you may gain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 3:1 1 Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession; 2 Peter 1:3 3 seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. 2 Peter 1:10 10 Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble

 Called Out of the World 1 Peter 2:9 New King James Version (NKJV) 9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 1 John 2:15 New King James Version (NKJV) 15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

IV.T O B E T RANSFORMED Romans 12:2 New King James Version (NKJV) 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2 New Life Version (NLV) 2 Do not act like the sinful people of the world. Let God change your life. First of all, let Him give you a new mind. Then you will know what God wants you to do. And the things you do will be good and pleasing and perfect. 2 Corinthians 5:17 New King James Version (NKJV) 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 New Life Version (NLV) 17 For if a man belongs to Christ, he is a new person. The old life is gone. New life has begun.

V.T OGETHER Hebrews 10:25 New King James Version (NKJV) 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 New International Version (NIV) 9 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: 10 If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. 11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? 12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
