PROJECT NAME : VOCATION INITITATION NETWORK TEAM NAME: QuantumG COUNTRY: INDIA

Lack of Quality Education Lack of creativity/entrepr eneurial activity EXPERIENCE AND DISCOVERY UNEMPLOYMENTUNEMPLOYMENT People want to follow others. It is because of lack of creativity and imagination in thinking. Hence, everyone wants to settle for the same set of jobs and pursue similar education. Personally, being a law student, I have seen students blindly going for a law firm job because it pays more. Moreover, the question is how many law firm jobs do we have in the country?

Causes of unemployment in India Increase in the population at a rate of 1.58% Euro-Debt Crisis and US crisis Economic Slowdown in the country Inefficient Legal Framework of the Country Other Causes of Unemployment in India

VOCATION INITIATION NETWORK  The idea for having a VIN comes from the fact that youth in India want to indulge in the “service for others” culture thereby cutting down on their creativity and ability to start up something of their own.  The VIN is established with the aim to inculcate a sense of pride in being an entrepreneur. It will try to overcome the herd mentality amongst the youth.  The Network will comprise of a set of qualified and determined professionals who want to help the youth of the nation in creating an opportunity for them.  It is not a hidden that starting a business in India requires licenses and various registrations. The Network will provide for legal and technological assistance overcoming the hurdles.

HOW THE VIN WORKS? VIN will hold a periodic convention called “Business Valley: Gulf of Ideas”. It will be an initiation by the Network that will call for a set of business ideas for the entrepreneurs. The Network will demand a proposal for a business ( service or goods industry) for a particular area, region. The idea will be judged by a set of panellists on the basis of viability, economic innovation, creativity and stability in the Indian market involving people and resources. The Network will select one business idea that suits the above mentioned objectives. It will be a careful analysis of the plan of action. After the idea has been selected, the Network will call for interested applicants who want to initiate and help in the start-up. It will select from the applicants along who can work as a team to turn the idea into a reality.

BUSINESS VALLEY: GULF OF IDEAS It will invite business proposals and ideas in any field. The work can be an individual initiative, team effort. The people proposing the plan can be of any field and there is no bar on educational qualification.

The team selected will make a plan of action and work as a team. After deliberations and discussions amongst the team members and the members of the Network, the team will set a final proposal. The final proposal will be put into action as the Network will provide professional, legal and technological help and provide for initiating a start-up. The Network will maintain a website for its work and update the members.

OTHER WORK OF VIN The Network will provide for internships under various firms, companies and other organizations such as an NGO. The Network will initiate awareness campaigns amongst the youth in the form of seminars, conventions and conferences. The Network will visit various universities to indulge the students and mainly, undergraduates in coming up different business models in their areas and help implement the same. The Network will initiate in small sustainable monthly projects in various regions.

The Network will involve volunteers who will look for monthly projects in a region and involve other people of the locality. The Network will invest 30 productive hours in a week. We will ask for volunteers and there is an estimate of attracting people in the region. We will also try and reach 5-10 unemployed people through the start-up initiation. The Network will maintain a periodical magazine and a website including a blog that will seek for suggestions and keep the people updated of its work. PLANNED OUTCOMES
