broadcast basics Terms and Jargon Television reporters know and use many terms These terms will be used in class, and you WILL need to know them Each member of our news team will need to pass a terms and jargon test to complete the broadcast basics unit

broadcast basics Anchor The person hosting a newscast

broadcast basics Sound Bite or Bite A recorded comment from a news source, usually audio and video

broadcast basics Natural Sound (nat sound) Sounds recorded to capture the flavor of a news scene – birds singing, crowds cheering, planes landing, kids playing
