Presentation transcript:

Annual EC LRTAP-C emission inventory report Trends, Key Source Analysis and Recalculations Sabine Göttlicher, Katarína Marečková, Michael Gager EEA project manager: Martin Adams

Trends : EU-27 SO x :- 72 % CO:- 57 % NMVOC:-48 % NO x :-37 % NH 3 :- 22 % HM and POPs: level of data reported is steadily increasing, still too patchy to be included in the report

Key Source Analysis 2007: EU-27 Residential: Stationary plants: most important key category for CO, PM 10, PM 2.5 and NMVOC (+ key category for SO x and NO x ) Public Electricity and Heat Production: most important key category for SO x (+key category for CO, NMVOC, PM 10, PM 2.5 ) Road transport heavy duty vehicles: most important key category for NO x (+key category for CO, NMVOC, PM 10, PM 2.5 )

Key Source Analysis 2007: EU-27 7*80 = 560 % 95% = 17 % of 560 %

Recaluations: EU-27 UK: NO x, PM10: emission factors revised using new speed-emission factor functions CY: Use of revised emission factors as suggested in the new draft EMEP/EEA Emission Inventory Guidebook SE: NO x, NMVOC: Emissions from off-road vehicles and working machinery has been revised for the whole time series SE: PM 10, PM 2.5 road abrasion: fraction of vehicle km driven with studded tyres had been corrected. Last year CO: + NO x, NMVOC: +/- SO x : -

Recalculations: Example CO PT: 2006 reduction mainly due to recalculations in 1A3b Road Transport and 1A4 Combustion in Other Sectors DK: update of emission factor for CO for residential wood combustion DE : corrected activity data in sector 1 A 4 b i Residential: stationary plants
