By Nathan and Erik

About 5000 years ago, a great civilisation [way of life] grew up in Egypt on the banks of the River Nile. It lasted for more than 3000 years. We are still amazed at the wonderful achievements of its people.

 Egyptian priests decorated the wall of temples and tombs with a kind of picture writing called Hieroglyphics.

 During his lifetime, the pharaoh Khufu made detailed plans for his own burial and his journey into the next life. He instructed his builders to build a splendid pyramid at Giza, on the banks of the River Nile.

The great pyramid was originally covered with layers of sparkling, white limestone. Known as the great pyramid it was built about 4,500 years ago

 Tutankhamen was only eight when he became king of Egypt. He married Ankhesenpaaten, and his reign lasted from 1333 to 1323 BC.

 Did you know that Howard Carter found king Tut around 100 years ago.

 Only 5 months after the amazing discovery of Tutankhamen's tomb, Lord Carnarvon died a mysterious death.

 About Nathan and Erik? Nathan is a boy who is awesome. I’m deadly by Erik.
