WAVE EROSION. How do waves form? By wind that blows across the water’s surface. The wind causes water particles to move up and down as a wave goes by.

Ocean Waves and Beach Erosion Alessandra, Haley, Louis, Joe and Brandon

The Wave A wave long body of water curling into an arched form and breaking on the shore. There are six parts of a wave. The six parts are the wave crest, wave trough, orbital path of water molecules, wave height, still water level, wavelength.

Ocean Waves Waves that strike the shore at an angle help move sand along the shoreline, forming sandy beaches. Waves erosion forms jagged, steep cliffs. Waves constantly break against the shore creating rocky formation.

Beach Erosion Beach erosion is the erosion of beaches. This is the removal of beach and the wearing away of land because of waves. Beaches are temporary features.

QUESTIONS!! What are the six parts of a wave? What is a wave? What wears away land? What are temporary features?

Answers #1 wave crest, wave trough, orbital path of water molecules, wave height, still water level, wavelength #2 A long body of water curling into an arched form #3 An ocean wave #4 A wave
