Baking Powder Biscuits
Ingredients 2 C. Flour 2 C. Flour 1 T. Baking Powder 1 T. Baking Powder 2 T. Sugar 2 T. Sugar ½ t. Cream of Tarter ½ t. Cream of Tarter ¼ t. Salt ¼ t. Salt ½ C. Shortening ½ C. Shortening ⅔ C. Milk ⅔ C. Milk
Directions 1. Preheat oven to 450 °F. 2. Combine flour, baking powder, sugar, cream of tarter and salt in a bowl. Stir with fork. 3. Cut-in shortening, with pastry blender, until crumbly. 4. Make a well in the center of flour mixture. Add milk and stir with fork, just until dough clings together.
5. On lightly floured surface, knead dough times. 6. Roll or pat dough to ½ inch thick. 7. Cut with a 2 ½ inch biscuit cutter. 8. Place on ungreased baking sheet 1” apart. 9. Bake minutes, until lightly golden brown Cooking Temp. 450 ° Cooking Time minutes
