MODULE 7 WHO IS OUR COMPETITION?

WHAT IS SUPPLIER COMPETITION? OTHER SUPPLIERS In a deregulated market, fair competition is important! This means IGS Energy is NOT the only ones offering residential and commercial customer natural gas and electricity. You will need to know and understand the difference between the Utility Company and a Supply Company. Most of the suppliers have the word “energy” in their company name such as “Direct Energy”. This is not always the case such as “Integrys”. When delivering your presentation you will always see the names of the Utility markets we are authorized to sell in. For example in Michigan there is a gas utility named Michigan Gas. They are a Utility Company, but we do not provide supplier services to this market. AGGREGATIONS: Local communities that join their citizens together to buy natural gas and/or electricity as a group in order to gain buying power

TYPES OF COMPETITION RETAIL ENERGY SUPPLIERS Retail natural gas and/or electric service providers that are certified by the PUCO and compete for customer’s business by offering alternative competitive prices, renewable energy options, or other services/incentives Utility-Affiliated Retail Energy Supplier Independent Retail Energy Supplier AGGREGATIONS: Local communities that join their citizens together to buy natural gas and/or electricity as a group in order to gain buying power
