Lines and Angles

Vocabulary Two lines are parallel lines if they do not intersect.

Transversals A transversal is a line that intersects two or more lines. transversal

Corresponding Angles Two angles are corresponding angles if they are located, one inside and one outside the lines, and on the same side of the transversal. (same position)  1 and  5  4 and  8  2 and  6  3 and  7

Alternate Exterior Angles Two angles are alternate exterior angles if they are located outside of the lines and on opposite sides of the transversal  1 and  8  2 and  7

Alternate Interior Angles Two angles are alternate interior angles if they are located between the lines and on opposite sides of the transversal  3 and  6  5 and  4

Same Side Interior Angles Two angles are same side interior angles if they are located between the lines and on the same side of the transversal  3 and  5  4 and  6
