Project Overview:

Oral Presentation: Students select topic - 5th graders to cover 300 year period divided in decades Write three essential questions learn to use Internet, Encarta, etc., to research subject Write Tarzan language index cards Give presentation to class

The Publisher Newsletter: S tudents create Publisher Newsletter by using six facts from oral presentation and by adding graphics.

Research Paper: Students use Writing Process to complete paper Students use 75 Tarzan fact cards from oral presentation and newsletter to write a research paper Students write a works cited page

Cumulative Activity: Students are experts in their field of study and are ready for presentation to parents at Open House. The entire 5th grade will make a human timeline with their selected events from 300 years of United States history.
