Everyone started accusing others of communism. People were publicly tried and were often jailed and monitored without sufficient evidence of guiltiness. This resulted in the accused losing their job and social life. Almost no one stood up to stop Mccarthy from accusing people and ruining their lives. America- 50 states united by the believe of freedom Paranoid-suffering from the mental condition of paranoia.
