North America A book for Henry

Here’s where North America is.

Here’s North America.

Let’s look for the Arctic, Pacific, and Atlantic Oceans.

North America is where the United States of America is!

And also Canada, which is north of the United States,

Mexico, which is south of the United States,

and the smaller countries of Central America, which are south of Mexico.

There are also islands in the Caribbean Sea.

The United States is where we live!

The eastern part of the United States

is green and hilly,

the South

is green and hot,

the Midwest

is flat, with many farms,

and the West

is dry and full of mountains!

The biggest city in the United States is New York City,

but the capital of the United States is Washington, DC.

A famous place in the United States is the Grand Canyon.

Here are some Americans (people who live in the United States).

Canada is a lot like the United States—but colder!

Most of Canada is wilderness, and also very cold in winter!

The biggest city in Canada is Toronto.

The capital of Canada is Ottawa.

The CN Tower, in Toronto, is one of the world’s tallest towers.

Here are some Canadians (people from Canada).

Here is Mexico again.

A lot of Mexico is hot and dry, like this.

But other parts of Mexico have jungles.

The capital and the biggest city in Mexico is called Mexico City!

This is a famous pyramid. It is in an old Mayan city, called Chichen Itza.

Here are some Mexican people (from Mexico).

Central America has seven (7) countries. Panama is in the south.

The Panama Canal is in Panama.

The Panama Canal lets ships go from the Pacific to the Atlantic!

The End
