How about them dodo birds? Dodo birds Have been extinct for about 300 years. Until the arrival of humans, the Dodo Bird had no natural predators The closest relative of the Dodo Bird is the Nicobar Pigeon. The Dodo was once called the "Wallowbird.“ ` <--picture of a Nicobar pigeon `

Why was the dodo bird called a wallow bird? There was only a short interval between the naming of the Dodo Bird and its disappearance-but an awful lot of confusion was generated during those 75 years. Shortly after its discovery, a Dutch captain referred to the Dodo as the "Walghvogel" (Wallowbird), and some Portuguese sailors called it a penguin (which may have been a mangling of "pinion," meaning "small wing.")

Where does the dodo bird live? Dodo Birds, while now extinct, were found only on the small island of Mauritius,500 miles east of Madagascar, and 1200 miles east of Africa. On the island it had no predators.

How is a dodo bird born? The dodo bird female lays one egg at a time The incubation period of the egg is 4 to 6 weeks.

A Dodo birds diet Dodo birds eat fruit, like pineapple and apples mostly. They also eat nuts http://dodobird.net/
