Gr. 1-3 One paragraph okay but try to have an introduction and conclusion to any research writing. Everyone use graphic organizers to help you start your writing. Here’s a website to help you : Gr. 4-5 Be sure to have an introduction and conclusion in most of your writing forms. Cite your sources in the last page of your writing project. Gr Definitely include an introduction and a conclusion. Cite your sources using the techniques taught on the recorded session. Try to develop your writing into more paragraphs than the younger students and don’t skip details because you want to rush and avoid writing. Use a variety of sources and assess which ones are better than others. Some Grade appropriate expectations for Socials include:

Show how you can solve a social problem - persuasive writing Use maps and timelines to represent information Gather information from a variety of sources and deliver a presentation

Come up with a plan to solve a local or global problem Ex. Energy conservation, loss of jobs, economical decline, pollution, situations in the Middle East, technology additions, etc…. Defend your position on a selected topic (give your opinion and other’s opinions) Evaluate sources of information and deliver a formal presentation Use various graphs, tables, timelines and maps in your presentations
