A Different World After-School Play, Love, Learn, Grow

WE ARE THEIR VOICE…..

Our Mission Our mission is to empower children to become successful students for today, life long learners for the future and successful productive citizens for life.

Our Goal Our goal is to create an after-school program that will increase the external and internal assets of children through a program that offers activities that are relevant, engaging and exciting.

Our Philosophy Lying inside of each child is the insatiable desire to achieve greatness. We believe that by increasing a student’s internal and external assets and creating them where they don’t exist will awaken the wealth of potential that lies within each of them.

Our Philosophy cont. Creating an environment that is vibrant, exciting, open to choices, canopied with respect, understanding and love will serve as a vehicle to move them into their new levels of success.

WE ARE THEIR VOICE…..

DID YOU KNOW……………… That after school is when I am most likely to try sex drugs and other delinquent activities.

FACT Between the hours of 3 pm and 6 pm is when children are most likely to experiment with sex drugs and other delinquent activities.

DID YOU KNOW……………… That I am one of millions left home alone?

FACT According to the U.S. Census Bureau there are approximately 400 million children left alone after-school.

DID YOU KNOW……………… I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR TAKING CARE OF MYSELF.

FACT In South Carolina, 24% of K4 – 12 th grade youth are responsible for taking care of themselves.

DID YOU KNOW……… That I would really love to attend an after-school program that would help me: 1.Stay out of trouble 2.Learn in a fun way 3.Keep me safe

FACT More than 45% of K4 – 12 th grade youth in self-care would be likely to participate in an after school program if one were available in the community.

DID YOU KNOW……………… The greater the external and internal assets of young children the more likely they are to succeed.

DID YOU KNOW THAT……………… A visit WE DID to our local community showed evidence of..

Children in the streets by themselves

Beer bottles in the streets

Drug activity

SEXUAL PROMISCUITY

Real Stories * Real Lives There are so many more like them.

And many children who are………..

HURTING LACKING DEPRIVED FAILING

Now that you know………………….
