KS2 SATs 9th– 12th May 2016

What are SATs? Statutory Assessment Tests Formal Timed Examinations Provide attainment outcomes for most Y6 pupils in the country Tests are now reflecting the new National Curriculum and are intended to be more rigorous

Marking SATs papers are marked externally SATs results for Maths and Reading and SPaG will be used to inform national and local data Teacher Assessments will also be reported to you and high schools

What about the results? As of this year, children will not receive levels Each pupil registered for the tests will receive: a raw score (number of raw marks awarded) a scaled score confirmation of whether or not they attained the national standard https://www.gov.uk/guidance/scaled-scores

What do they consist of? No longer a Level 6 test. Questions within the test are designed to test all abilities English reading: reading booklet and associated answer booklet (1hour) English grammar, punctuation and spelling Paper 1: short answer questions (45 mins) English grammar, punctuation and spelling Paper 2: spelling (approx 15 mins)

What do they consist of? MATHEMATICS Mathematics Paper 1: Arithmetic (30mins) Mathematics Paper 2: Reasoning (45mins) Mathematics Paper 3: Reasoning (45mins)
