Plan of Work

Oklahoma 4-H Plan of Work Targeted Initiatives Leadership & Citizenship Agriculture & Natural Resources Science & Technology Healthy Living

Why a Timeline? The timeline is designed to help you track programming participation (demographics). Items that don’t really fit into these areas don’t need to be included in your timeline with the exception of in-service trainings you will enroll in. Be specific on the topics you plan to teach for volunteer training.

Guidelines for Development of your 4-H Timeline 4-H Educators in a 3 or more-staff county (100%) – A minimum of 136 days should be included for the year. FCS or AG Educators in a 3-staff county (90/10%) – AG/FCS audiences (122 days) and 4-H/Youth audience (14 days). FCS or AG Educators in a 2-staff county (50/50%) – AG/FCS audiences (68 days) and 4-H/Youth audience (68 days).

Programming should include…. Program Needs Areas identified by the PAC or current county needs In-service and core-training for other major programming Adult and teen leadership development trainings Volunteer Management

District and State events and activities School Enrichment Special Interest efforts In depth educational series of programming Evaluation In-Service Training Fall 4-H PAC meeting 4-H newsletter 4-H news releases Volunteer Training Leadership Team Meetings Training for club officers and leaders County events and activities Things to include……

In-service requirements days (a day equals 6-8 hours) Select 6-8 days from OCES offerings Remainder from other sources

Your program may fit equally well under another Team! And example might be GPS/GIS….are you using this in an agricultural or natural resources program? Are you using in a leadership training or community service activity? Are you teaching the science of GIS/GPS? Or maybe even in a camp setting to mark locations of water sources! Note……

The above are meant to serve as examples! The main goal is to showcase the great programs we are offering in 4-H and how they lead to positive youth development! Remember……

It is EXTREMELY important you work closely with your respective District Directors and District Program Specialists during this process. Final thought….
