EARLY PROMISES Gen. 2: Death as the penalty for eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Gen. 6:17 - A flood would destroy everything on the earth. Gen. 9: God would never again destroy the earth with a flood.

PROMISES TO ABRAHAM Genesis 12: A great nation would come from him. 2. This nation would be given a special land. 3. A blessing for all families of the earth would come from this nation. His descendants became a great nation in Egypt. They inherited the land of Canaan as their own possession. Christ came through this nation (Matt. 1:1).
