FAM-17 Recap Overall Flow Questions
FAM-17 STANDARD DEBRIEFING FORMAT The Flight Lead or Pilot-in-Command is responsible for ensuring all flight or crewmembers are thoroughly debriefed on the conduct of the mission utilizing the “S-P-B-E-MS-LL” format outlined below. (Refer to the CTW-1/CTW-2 Expanding Debriefing Guide for specific objectives). I.Safety II.Planning III.Brief IV.Execution V.Mission Success VI.Lessons Learned
FAM-17 CREW REST REQUIRMENTS CREW DAY: 12 hours max from first scheduled event to last debrief. (pg.4 MCG) CREW REST: 12 hours minimum from completion of students last scheduled event of the day to the following day’s first scheduled event. (pg.4 MCG) WORKWEEK: May be up to 6 days. After 6 consecutive workdays, students must have one day off. (pg.4 MCG)

FAM-17 WARM-UP ELIGIBILITY -One warm-up event may be awarded when there has been a delay of more than 6 calendar days since the last FAM event (sim or flight). -If the next regularly scheduled event is a dual event, then the warm-up is briefed and flown as that flight. If student shows normal progress, then the flight shall be considered complete. If not, then the flight shall be considered a warm- up of the previous event. -A mandatory warm-up shall be granted when there has been a delay of greater than 13 days since the last FAM event (sim or flight).
FAM-17 CROSSWIND LIMITATIONS LANDING RUNWAY: 01L CURRENT WINDS: 060/20KTS CROSSWIND COMPONENT: 15KTS NOTE CROSSWIND LIMITS: DUAL = 20KTS SOLO = 10KTS
FAM-17 MCG NOTES -Each student will have a primary and a secondary flight instructor (On-Wing) designated prior to FAM-08. Not more than two off-wing instructor events will be flown prior to FAM solo flight. (pg. 8 MCG) -A maximum of 3 flights “VFR on top” are allowed in the FAM stage. - Practice PA’s will be flown to a full stop only when dual.
