Welcome to our workshop The word on the street is employability UVAC Conference 2014

Background to Prospect Research Working with colleges, universities and private training providers since 2009 Dedicated employer engagement team Delivering successful recruitment campaigns from Apprenticeships to Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (and everything in-between) Market Research – to explore potential barriers, explore new sectors and attitudes

Today’s workshop Employability overview Interactive session – engaging with employers Case study example

Employability stakeholders Employers Learner Education provider

Successful collaboration Well prepared applicants Education providers forge strong relationships with employers All three parties understand their responsibility Expectations are met or challenged

Interactive session – 20 minutes Engaging with Employers

Case study Collaborate to Innovate is a graduate internship and academic secondment project delivered by Loughborough University and funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF ).

Why Lead Generation? Loughborough Univeristy had a need to engage with employers matching a set criteria Other marketing methods relied on employers contacting the University or were simply not targeted enough Why use an outsourced provider? They required a professional resource to credibly represent their brand The Enterprise team would be using their time to visit employers and match suitable candidates.

Campaign journey Approach agreed Appointments Generated Feedback from employers Approach modified Successful conversion rates

Listening to the Stakeholders The campaign was very successful, generating 333 appointments Key findings: Employer feedback - strong preference for the option to retain the intern on a permanent basis Loughborough University feedback – key message modified to reflect the potential to extend the contract Candidate feedback – we targeted sectors that had a correlation with individuals area of interest

Client Feedback Testimonial “A thoroughly professional service which has yielded impressive results.” Catherine Allford, Enterprise team, Loughborough University
