Rainbow Class makes Gingerbread Cottage

Measure for measure With no Woollies to buy our sponges from, we had to come up with another option. Cleaning cloths, but much easier to cut and measure. We wrapped these around small detergent boxes.

Good enough to eat already! With the sides covered, it was time to add the “jam and cream.” This thick wool was ideal. Lots of measuring skills used.

Sweet Symmetry Florence and Finn start to add real sweets to the outside walls. Should we have counted them before they started?!

It’s delicious up top! Finlay found that bubble wrap painted brown looked like chocolate buttons for roof tiles. Meanwhile Florence painted strips of sponge to look like gingerbread.

We resisted long enough! This doesn’t just look good enough to eat, we know that some of it IS good enough to eat. Mrs B relents and allows a roof tile each!

Sweets for my Sweet! Oliver checks that Thomas did stick the last sweet on rather than eat it! Is that Georgia “eaves” dropping?! As Finn and Isaac sort their chocolate roof.

So that’s where the pic ‘n’ mix went Had we started the project earlier, Woollies may still be in business!!!!! The girls were determined to use as many sweets as possible, supplies were getting low!

Outline the problem. Nicholas traces around his box to make sure the sides are covered neatly. Ruby is already adding her version of pebble dashing- sweetie dashing!

Crumbs! Hansel and Gretal will be spoilt for choice. What a delicious array of buildings Everyone different because the children made their own choices. A sweet ending.
