How Stories Are Arranged
Presentation transcript:

2 nd Quarter ORP FICTION

Use a pretend “Social Media” device To tell me about the novel you read  Make a poster- posterboard, tri-fold, paper…  Draw the templates for the social media accounts you are using- or the cell phone templates- use color!  You may draw pictures or use images from the internet to put in your poster: as the “profile” picture of your character or the “Instagram” post of your setting, for example  You need to use quotes from your book, so start annotating

Include These Elements: Main Character:  Show me who they are through their social media accounts, use it to convey their personality, and portray how they change, detail the events in the story (plot, see below)  Use a quote from the story that tells about the character- their emotions etc. (a quote that helped you infer who they are…) Theme:  What is the message or lesson your character learned or that YOU took away from this novel?  Use a quote or picture to represent this and explain it (in captions? Plot:  Have at least 5 major events in story the exposition, rising action, climax and resolution  Summarize what happens in the story…  What is the Conflict? Setting: ( Where/When ) (Instagram?- explain it)  THINK ABOUT: how does the setting affect the story? could it take place anywhere? Or at anytime? Does the setting play a significant role?

Their PHONE what apps? What pics? Who do they text?

Who is in their contacts? Do they have any missed calls? What pictures are on their phone?

What’s on their calendar?

If they had a Tumblr page…

What about Pinterest?

What would they pin? What boards do they have?

Twitter What’s trending? ### who are they following? what pictures do they tweet? What do they favorite? What do they retweet? Who responds to their tweets?

…Or, another idea..

What if your character had their own YouTube channel?

What would their videos say? What do people comment?

To what channels do they subscribe?

another option: Facebook

Instagram
