Performing Arts History Project EDTE 522 (Secondary)

Objectives Learn a little about a specific genre or style of performing arts Teach a little about a specific genre or style of performing arts Identify some of the pioneers Give a sense of the time-line of the art Demonstrate a few of the key components Work collaboratively on a project

Examples Identify the genre (Modern Dance) Use a power point, video, handbill, to identify the key components Demonstrate some of the elements of the art (personally, through video) Check for understanding from the audience (questions, participation)

Performance Qualities Costumes: just a sample, or suggestion Sets, props: same as above Performance Time: no more than 20 minutes. No less than 10 minutes.

The Rehearsal Log A written representation of your group’s collaborative process. One voice representing all, or multiple voices. Your choice. Must identify the decisions made by the group.
