Around the late 1960s, Samsung entered the electronics industry and in the mid 1970s, it began construction and shipbuilding industries. After the death of Byung-Chull Lee in 1987, his company was divided into four business groups- Samsung Group, Shinsegae Group, CJ Group and Hansol Group. Recently Samsung has  begun construction on building the world's largest mobile phone factory in the Thai Nguyen province of Vietnam.
