Meridian Junior High School School Improvement Plan Committee Members: Mrs. Leslie Zoet 6 th Mrs. Tina Isaacs 7 th Ms. Kim Hofmeister 8 th Mr. William Davidson, Principal

Last Year Goals and Results Goal #1: We will increase extended writing response scores to meet or exceed the state standards by using common writing instructions at each grade level and in all subject areas. Goal #2: Align all courses to the Illinois State Learning Standards. Goal #3: Achieve 100% parent interaction/communication for all students at all grade levels.

Results Result 1 We are unable to analyze the breakdown of test data, due to the ISAT tests not being finalized. Result 2 The History department finalized the curriculum maps to complete the 5 academic areas. The arts department is presently beginning scope and sequence for K-12. Result 3 All 3 grade levels met this goal with 100% contacts. We will continue this goal for this year as well.

Other Areas of Improvement 1.We have begun the process of changing our school into a professional learning community. a. Meeting bi-weekly as grade level and curricular teams. b. Creating common assessments. c. Meeting to evaluate and improve student success. d. Administrators will attend workshop in Feb. 2.We are in the beginning stages of learning the Rti process and be able to apply it in the future. a. Lead teacher went to work shop for reading at the OCEC. b. In-service for teachers on Jan. 5 institute. 3. We will be having a bullying in-service on Jan. 5 institute.

State Goals for Raise 6 th grade reading to 83%, and Math exceeds to 20%. 2. Raise 7 th grade reading to 82%, and Math to 90%. 3.Raise 8 th grade reading to 84%, and Math to 94% 4.90% or higher for all grade levels in Reading and 75% in Math on the Image test.
