National History Day Thursday, February 25, 2016

This Project Is: A) Small – I can finish it the night before the event. B) Big – I can do it over a weekend. C) Huge – I need to start now and work on it frequently until it is due. C) Huge – Definitely start now!

Is History Day a required or optional project? Required!!!

There must be a reason for this project. Here are 3 of the many: 1.Develop strong research skills 2.Expand critical thinking skills 3.Improve presentation skills Stick around after class if you want to hear more.

There are 5 main categories: 1.Exhibit 2.Documentary 3.Performance 4.Website 5.Historical Paper

It is best to choose your category: A) First, even before you have a topic. B) After you have done some research. C) Last, preferably about a week or two before the event. D) A and B E) B and C F) A, B, and C D) A and B (but mostly B)

Picking a Group – T or F T F A group can have up to 5 people. TRUE T F I can be in a group with someone from another House. TRUE T F It is always a great idea to work with my best friend/s. FALSE

More about Groups: T F Groups can split up the work any way they like as long as everyone participates equally. TRUE (mostly) T F I can switch groups if I don’t like mine. TRUE (sort of)
