Law for Research Centers ■ Law for Research Infrastructure published in July The objective is to define issues related to support to ensure a more effective use of research infrastructure and their sustainability ■ What it brings? ► Legal entity  Independent from many governmental agencies, direct connection to ministry or large coordination unit. ► Effective coordination  It will have own management structure including, industry, university, ministry, advisory committee and director.  Opportunity to hire professional administrator ► Human resource; opportunities  to hire high qualified staff with high salary  to make short time contract with employee  to hire foreign employee ► Sustainable financing  Be able to have its own revenue and expenditure  Financed for operation from the central budget based on performance  Tax exemptions ► Collaboration with related industry, institutions (also with foreign institutions) 7 Sep 20157th IMAC Meeting of TARLA

Conclusion ■ We updated our budget for full scope of facility and asked for budget to funding agency (beginning of 2015) for 5 years total 44.1 M€  Hardware31 M€  Personnel 4.4 M€  Operation 8.5 M€ ■ However we have defined alternative installation plans depending on budget ■ Although the law has been created for “operating” centers we will have exception during evaluation ► Realization of the impact of accelerators & related technologies on development of a country ■ Both university and government site wants TARLA to be research center.
