BUILDING STRONG ® PORTLAND DISTRICT 2

BUILDING STRONG ® PORTLAND DISTRICT 3 Bonneville Lock and Dam

BUILDING STRONG ® PORTLAND DISTRICT 4 Bonneville Lock and Dam

BUILDING STRONG ® PORTLAND DISTRICT 5 Fishways  Oiling could lead to fish avoidance.  Fishways have permanent boom installed.  Shutting down the fishway will impact Spring Chinook, Steelhead, and Lamprey.

BUILDING STRONG ® PORTLAND DISTRICT 6 Spillway  Intake is 30’ below surface.  Seasonal spill to improve downstream fish passage.

BUILDING STRONG ® PORTLAND DISTRICT 7 Powerhouse(s)  Intake depth is ~70’ below surface.  Turbines are not impacted by oil.

BUILDING STRONG ® PORTLAND DISTRICT 8 Assets / Actions for Unified Command  Fishway shutdown. ► Endangered Species Impacts?  Flow modification from Spill to Power Generation ► May improve capability of holding oil upriver of Bonneville. ► Endangered Species Impacts? ► Spill is mandated by Biological Opinion.  River flow modification for response.
